Climb for a Cure
Every year, Fight Colorectal Cancer organizes a hike in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado for survivors, caregivers, friends and family affected by colorectal cancers. Last year we climbed three different 14,000 foot mountains to help raise money and awareness for Fight CRC. This year we're heading back to Colorado to climb Quandary Peak, just outside of Breckenridge.
I was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 30 and I consider myself unbelievably lucky. We caught it early, I didn't need chemo or radiation, and within six weeks of surgery I was out climbing mountains again. Since that time, I've become involved in the world of advocacy with other young adult survivors to help raise awareness, raise money for research and create support communities for others going thru a similar diagnosis.
Here's where you come in! If you know of anyone affected by colorectal cancers and want to help support our cause, consider making a tax-deductible donation directly to Fight Colorectal Cancer, or through my fundraising page for the hike this year! Any amount helps! Your support could help someone make it to the hike who otherwise wouldn't be able to!
